Marital partners are chosen on their own, whereas with the eastern culture, partners are chosen for you. Many times, career choices and educational choices are also forced upon the younger generation. This is not 100% the case in all situations but it is a problem when a person from the east moves to the west with family. Many times, there is a clash and this causes anger and hurt for both parties. A difficult choice must be made. What do you do? Do you choose family or do you do what your heart tells you to do? Do you change your beliefs and traditions to the new culture?One of the main negative aspects of living in one culture and being from another is marriage and relationships. Which one do you choose? Do you choose the option that makes your family happy or the one that you are happy with? Relationships suffer because of the differences no matter where you come from.
